Being a blonde is no joke.
Being any living person with a preference for curls is time consuming as hell.
Keeping up with regular fringe maintenance on top of everything else can make a girl downright hostile.
Fortunately, hair care is my forte, I’ve tried many different hair care products, and I’ve perfected a list made up only the very best- products that make all that effort and all that maintenance a fraction of the hassle.
Everything I know about my hair I learned from trial and error, so I’m passing along my hair care knowledge, and wishing you and your hair a healthy and happy life together ♥ All of my favorites are as follows:
For regular shampooing and conditioning:
This duo is gentle, kind, and always leaves my hair tangle free. It’s a bit off putting upon first use, as the shampoo is not accompanied by that thick lather that some of us are accustomed to, but it leaves my hair feeling cleaner and healthier than I’ve ever experienced with other products.
For damage control/prevention:
Hands down, best hair mask of all time. I use it roughly once a week, and I would be lost without it. Coloring your hair eventually takes it’s toll no matter how careful you are, but this mask has been counteracting all the damage I do to my hair since the very time I used it.
For lightening roots in between hair coloring appointments:
When using this spray, keep in mind that it contains peroxide, so I can’t stress how important it is to follow directions and don’t overdo it. As long as it’s used in moderation, this spray is a miracle worker and can save you a little time between colorings.
For eliminating brassy, yellow tones from blonde/silver hair:
Every platinum blonde lover knows the obscene frustration one feels after getting their coloring touched up, and seeing slight hints of yellow only a few days later. As far as purple shampoos and conditioners go, this duo is the best I’ve ever tried, as it does what it’s supposed to without making your hair feel like straw. The bottle says it’s safe to use up to twice a week, but I’ve never needed to. One use a week has been more than enough to keep my hair from yellowing.
For enhancing curls and overall body:
I started using this one back in high school when I had a soft perm (haha) and it reduced the chances of said perm getting frizzy or unsightly, while still making my waves more lively. These days, it does the same for my curls and even provides body when I wear my hair straight.
Hairspray of choice:
I love it because it provides body and hold without leaving any sort of stiff, filmy residue.
